Hoffman's Fine Pastries is in Kirkland's Park Place shopping mall. Hoffman's is very nice. They serve a whole bunch of cakes and scones and cookies and whatnot. I usually go in just for drip coffee, which costs me $1.37 after tax.
The place seems to be entirely run by women, with an older lady who works the register and a Spanish speaking woman would seems to manage things.
Their scones are very good. Both last year and this year, I would buy the occasional scone from Hoffman's and feed part of it to crows in Peter Kirk park. These Kirkland crows perch above me on rain gutters, waiting for me to leave scone crumbs underneath the park bench that I sit on in the morning.
One would imagine that it must be nicer to be a crow in Kirkland as opposed to Seattle. I often see Seattle crows digging through dingy dumpsters. Of course Seattle crows seem tougher - I was attacked by some Seattle crows back in May.
